The sixth inning between Pittsburgh Pirates Vs. The New York Yankees played in Pittsburgh on Friday had a very unwanted scary moment.
The Yankees pitcher Anthony Misiewicz got hit by a line drive and immediately started bleeding and soon departed from the game.
The liner that drove Misiewicz on the face was at a speed of 100.6 miles per hour, he didn’t have the time to put his glove up to stop the ball. Apparently, the liner hit him on the left side of his head close to his ear, and was helped onto a cart by medical personnel.
As per the latest updates, the Yankees have declared that Misiewicz is “alert and oriented.” He is being examined by a team of doctors, and he is being transported to a local hospital for more testing.
They further added Misiewicz will have to undergo a series of tests and more updates will be provided once the Yankees announce more relevant information.
The MLB Podcast, Talkin’ Baseball also tweeted about the unfortunate event saying,

Misiewicz was struck on the left side of his head by a liner, and the left-hander fell straight on the ground as he rolled over in pain.
The Yankees’ medical team immediately rushed onto the field and was seen with a towel on the head to stop the bleeding. The players of both teams were also seen taking a knee on the field later.
Anthony Misiewicz has been transported to Allegheny General Hospital and will undergo further testing.
