The talented Los Angeles Angels superstar who is a hitter/pitcher, Shohei Ohtani, is soon to be an unrestricted free agent this coming winter.

As soon as he is open in the market, there is a world of possibilities, including sealing the biggest contract in MLB history.

The Boston Red Sox can possibly be the next destination for the Los Angeles Angels pitcher/designated hitter or his path to a new franchise.

Sports experts have speculated that the two-way phenom could still be able to draw a $600 million contract on the open market this off-season.

The Boston Red Sox recently fired chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom on Thursday, and they are in need of a super-talented player, which Ohtani will fulfill.

On Friday afternoon Peter Gammons the longtime MLB columnist and reporter posted some information on the above. He tweeted,

“The National League executive, long familiar with Shonei Ohtani believes, he is interested in Boston, partly because of his relationship with New Balance CEO Jim Davis. Bosox problem: Masataka Yoshida has to DH, Ohtani off TJ must DH, Sox $ mostly going to pitch.”

New Balance has an endorsement deal with Ohtani which is estimated at $5 million and Davis being from Brookline, Massachusetts, the Red Sox can potentially land him.

Another potential tie up to his Red Sox in the off-season comes from his Japanese teammate Masataka Yoshida who is a left fielder for the Red Sox.

Ohtani arriving at the Red Sox would be a major highlight and possibly one of the biggest off season deals and additions in Boston sports history. The 29-year Japanese two-way phenom is a favorite for the American League MVP this season, even with his UCL injury.
