Aaron Rodgers injury update: Jets QB undergoes Innovative Achilles Surgery, Aiming for Playoff Return

Aaron Rodgers’ injury in his season-opening game for the New York Jets stunned football fans.

Unfortunately, the quarterback tore his Achilles and it was later revealed that he would not be participating in this season.

According to the NFL, it has been recently revealed that Aaron Rodgers had an innovative surgery in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

This surgery however is a treatment intended to hasten the traditional recovery from such an injury.

Dr Neal ElAttrache an eminent orthopaedic surgeon and his team according to reports, repaired Rodgers’ entire left Achilles with an internal brace known as an Achilles “speed bridge.”

Rodgers regarding the injury said, “There’s a lot of different ideas about the overall length of the rehab. I think what I’d like to say is, just because nobody’s ever done it in a certain way doesn’t mean it’s not possible,”

“I definitely have some odds stacked against me based on age, but I like it. Stack all the odds up against me and see what happens. My entire focus and dedication is about acquiring the most information and adding to what I’ve already put together as a pretty damn good rehab plan that’s going to, I think, shock some people.”

Although there are no assurances, the speed bridge safeguards and further protects the repair and provides the player an opportunity for a quicker return.

This type of injury under normal conditions is considered to be a season-ending injury but the “speed bridge” surgery which is a novel surgical procedure gives the player a much quicker recovery time.

The NBA legend late Kobe Bryant also received the same procedure in 2013 from Dr Neal ElAttrache. Russel Wilson last year underwent a similar procedure.
