The Atlanta Braves faced a brutal loss against the Miami Marlins, with a score of 16-2.

Although it wasn’t a fun game for the Braves, they managed to make some history along the way.

During the game, Marcell Ozuna hit a solo home run, marking his 35th home run for the season.

This achievement is remarkable considering that he had a batting average of only .084 earlier in the season. It not only showcases his improvement but also holds a special place in history.

With this latest home run, Marcell Ozuna now joins three other Braves hitters who have surpassed the 35-home run mark this season. These players include Matt Olson with 52 home runs, Ronald Acuña Jr with 37 home runs, and Austin Riley with 36 home runs. This is the first time in the history of Major League Baseball that a team has had four different hitters with 35 or more home runs in a single season.

Comparing this record to the 2019 Minnesota Twins team, known for their impressive home run count of 307, it’s interesting to note that they only had two players who hit 35 or more home runs. Nelson Cruz, their designated hitter, hit 41 home runs, and Max Kepler, their right fielder, hit 36 home runs.

While the Atlanta Braves having already secured the NL East title, their fans and baseball enthusiasts are keeping a close eye on the Wild Card race. This race determines which teams will qualify for the playoffs as Wild Card finishers.

The Braves will face the winner of the Wild Card series in the Divisional Round, making it an exciting and highly anticipated matchup.
