The head coach of the New England Patriots Bill Belichick said in the press conference after their defeat to the Dolphins on Sunday night that he “Can’t play everybody.”
In the press conference held post-game some questions were raised starting with the question on a second slow start. He answered,
“Can’t turn the ball over,”
On the question of wide receiver Demario Douglas’s conspicuous lack of playing time after his first quarter. Belichick answered when asked about Douglas’s diminished role.
“We have played all of our skill players,”
“We had a lot of production on offense,”. “Lot of good players. Can’t play everybody.”
Later, he was also asked about Douglas returning to the offense again after his fumble. He said,
“We could talk about these questions on playtime every week,”
“There will be somebody or the other who played less than somebody else. We do have a lot of good skill players.”
When about the defense, the coach said
“We could’ve done a lot better job on the defense. They hit a few of them,”
The coach brushes off his remarks on the games by saying,
“There is not too much to say after that one,” “It was a tough loss, but we have got to learn something from it, and keep working harder and move on with optimism.”
WR Doughlas also agrees with the remarks as he said
“This is something we just have to something to learn from,”
He also added
“I believe I could have made a difference, but the offense did a good job still moving that ball,”
