In their recent 27-24 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow worsened a calf injury he sustained during training camp. After the game, he disclosed, “My calf’s sore right now, but we’ll see how it feels after a couple of nights and some good sleep.”

Burrow was seen stating, “Give it a couple nights, couple sleeps, and we’ll see. We’ll go from there.” During the game, he was helped off the field and fans noticed a slight hobble to his walk. He’s playing it cautious, saying, “just tweaked it a little bit again.” He was uncertain about the severity, “We’re going to have to wait and see.”

Regarding the future management of the injury, Burrow admitted, “Whenever you have these kind of things, it’s always ongoing, it’s always something that you’re managing. I don’t know how I’m going to feel the next couple of days, we’ll have to wait and see.” When asked if this calf trouble will stick with him all season, Burrow didn’t sugarcoat it, “I don’t know. It’s tough to tell, tough to look into the future and see that.”

On the sideline, Burrow could be seen using various methods like walking, stretching, and a theragun for calf massage. He mentioned that if the Bengals had managed to get the ball back, he would have been ready for the next series, “I’m doing everything I can to get healthy and get that thing the way I need it to so I can go out and perform the way I need to, to win, we’ll see.”

This calf injury had already cost him a chunk of the preseason, and he acknowledged that it affected his ability to reconnect with his receivers. Burrow summed it up bluntly, “When your quarterback misses camp, it’s tough to start fast. It’s not an ideal situation.”
