Micah Parsons took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to address the controversial hit delivered by Colorado State’s Henry Blackburn on Travis Hunter.

In Saturday night’s game, the versatile talent Travis Hunter had to exit during a double-overtime victory against Colorado State due to a hard sideline hit he endured in the first half. Coach Deion Sanders initially mentioned that Hunter would be sidelined for a few weeks, but no further updates were provided. Hunter was later taken to the hospital for evaluation during the third quarter.

The impact of losing Hunter was keenly felt by the team, with defensive back Shilo Sanders remarking, “The bad thing about losing Travis is, it’s like you’re losing two players at once.”

Hunter was on the receiving end of an illegal hit to his midsection during the second quarter, following an incompletion along the Colorado sideline. The play resulted in two penalties for Colorado State: Ayden Hector received a pass interference flag, and safety Henry Blackburn was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct due to a late hit out of bounds.

The hit unleashed a wave of anger from Colorado fans, with reports indicating that Blackburn received threats, including death threats, on social media, a development condemned by the sports community.

Micah Parsons voiced his strong opinion in a video, describing the hit as “malicious and dirty” and suggesting that the player responsible should have been ejected. He added, “I thought that guy should get ejected”.

“That is something that you hate to see in football”

“One thing I respect about Travis is he tried to get back in there, tried to fight..”
