Braves’ Spencer Strider Strikes Out 435 in First 50 Outings, Most Since 1900

In his first 50 outings, the ace of the Atlanta Braves Spencer Strider, struck out 435 opponents.

Since 1900, no pitcher has had more than that many strikeouts in his first 50 outings.

Spencer Strider has 270 strikeouts this season.

He’s also on track to smash the season strikeout record set by the Atlanta Braves.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, “Spencer Strider has 270 strikeouts this season. Since 1900, the only Braves pitcher to have more strikeouts in a season is John Smoltz in 1996 (276)”.

According to Forbes, Ronald Acuña, Jr., regarding Strider said, “He’s a superstar, and he’s an incredible pitcher,”

“I’m just glad he’s on our side.”

Strider participated in collegiate football with the Clemson Tigers. The Atlanta Braves selected him in the 2020 MLB Draft. In 2021, he participated in his League debut.
