Former ESPN Anchor Sage Steele Running for Congress? Republicans ‘wooing’ Her to Get in Race

Sage Steele is still figuring out what her next move is after she and ESPN mutually agreed to part ways following the two parties settling a lawsuit. Steele sued ESPN for depriving her of her right to "exercise my [her] First Amendment rights more freely" after she made comments regarding the COVID-19 vaccine and other political/social subjects.

Since then, it has been reported by Daily Ructions that "Republican leaders and donors in Washington and Connecticut hope the popular personality will fulfill that ambition" by enlisting herself in the 2024 election race for Connecticut’s fifth district.

Steele was contacted by the Indianapolis Star and asked to comment on the reports to which she replied "No comment on this… but I appreciate you asking."

"I refuse to be quiet anymore," Steele said when she left ESPN last month and she has certainly lived up to her end of the bargain. She appeared on SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show to discuss her experiences with ESPN, as well as Fox News and had an opportunity to share her story with the University of Alabama football team.

Steele’s fearlessness to speak her mind on controversial topics such as COVID-19 and transgender women participating against other women in sports has drawn the attention of several Republicans who share the same views and want to see her given the power to act on those beliefs.

It remains to be seen where/when Steele will end up next in her journey, but it seems as though politics is out of the picture for the time being.
