Former NFL player Sergio Brown has resurfaced after his mysterious disappearance following the tragic discovery of his 73-year-old mother, Myrtle Brown’s lifeless body in a creek near their Illinois residence.
Apparently, in a plot twist, Brown posted a cryptic video from Mexico on his Instagram account.
In the now-deleted video, which was shared from a burner account, named “International Player With A Passport,” Brown claimed he had been oblivious to his mother’s death, believing she was on vacation.
He further alleged that he had been abducted by law enforcement officials
During the unsettling video, Brown made multiple claims of “fake news” and went on an incoherent rant, accusing the Maywood Police Department and the FBI of kidnapping him not once, but twice from his own home.
As per CBS 2, one of Sergio Brown’s neighbors, Carlos Cortez, provided an account, stating that police informed him of unusual activity captured on a Ring Doorbell Camera.
According to Cortez, the cops observed Brown disposing of trash and conducting a bonfire in which he incinerated all of his mother’s clothing.
Currently, the Maywood Police Department is actively investigating this case.
Also, they have acknowledged the existence of Brown’s video circulating on social media.
Sergio Brown and his mother were reported missing by concerned family members, triggering an extensive search effort throughout the Maywood community.
Tragically, Myrtle Brown’s death has been ruled a homicide, though Sergio has not yet been named as a suspect.
Adding to the intrigue, another video emerged from the same burner account, showing Sergio Brown strolling the streets of Maywood, Illinois, while singing the lyrics, “Oh my god, oh my god, if I die, I am a legend,” from a song by Drake.
The Maywood Police Department has urged anyone with information about Sergio Brown’s whereabouts to come forward by contacting at 708-450-1787.
Sergio Brown was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent back in 2010.
Brown’s NFL tenure has seen him don various jerseys from 2010-2016. After his time with the Patriots, he embarked on stints with the Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Buffalo Bills.
