There’s no showmanship … he’s all about the business” commentator Louis Riddick on Prime Time Sanders

The Colorado Buffaloes are turning heads this season, with head coach Deion Sanders leading the Boulder Side to a 3-0 start.

"Prime Coach" as he is now being called, has always been untraditional in his way of playing sport, approaching sport and now leading rising sports stars.

Sanders spent 14 successful years in the NFL, winning two Superbowl titles, and nine seasons in the MBA reaching the World Series.

He is not a conventional coach, but his Boulders team have been creating a storm with their exciting play, and thrilling wins.

Louis Riddick was calling the Colorado vs Colorado State game on the weekend, in what has been arguably the best college game all season, with Prime Time’s team winning 43-35 in a game which went to double overtime.

Riddick is a former teammate of Sanders, and the safety confirmed that Sanders is creating a legacy for black coaches with his non-conformist approach.

"I have kids … who look at things much differently. Much differently. Who are more open-minded like they look at Deion and they go ‘Yeah, I like that! I would love to play for someone like that."

Sanders is a legend in the NFL and is creating a name as a head coach with an exciting Boulders team, and he is doing it in his own way, the "Prime Time" way.

"There are just old traditionalists for whatever – well, we know what some o0f the reasons are – that will never accept his way about going about it [coaching], and some that will. And there are some eyes being opened and people are going to reconsider man. They just are," he added.

Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Liddick told the host that even when it came to broadcasting, Sanders was an absolute professional. "There’s no showmanship. There’s no Prime Time Deion when he’s in a production meeting. He’s all about the business."

Sanders is still being Sanders but is definitely not lacking in the professional department, in any facet of his life, especially in his new role as head coach.

"He also wanted to talk about how he’s trying to affect the future of prospective black head coaches in college football and that’s something that means a lot to him."

The Buffaloes next take on SCU, then Oregon, followed by a tough match against Arizona.
