In an interview with ESPN, Saints QB Dereck Carr revealed he texted Coach Josh McDaniels after the Raider’s Week 1 win, Congrats on beating the Broncos.

Last year, Carr was benched following the Week 16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, this eventually led to his release in the offseason.

Carr now a QB for the New Orleans Saints said in a recent interview with ESPN,

“After the Week 1 game and their win, I texted Josh McDaniels to congratulate them on beating the Broncos, that’s awesome, Just like we did last year.”

He also showed what a type of person he is by saying,

“I’m gonna be the type of guy I want my kids to be if they go through a hard time.”

Carr also talks about his possible future with the Raiders, He mentions,

“When I left in March, I had a great conversation with the Raiders’ owner Mark Davis. As I pointed out, He knows at some point, I’m going to be coming back”
“Once a Raider, always a Raider, they always say that, and I’ll be thankful for that when I’m not a Saint.”

It is worth a prediction given his appreciation for the franchise, It is likely that Carr will retire as a Raider, even if not as an active player.

Carr’s time with the Raiders didn’t go as planned as it ended the way he expected, he had planned to stay with the team for a longer duration.

As he harbors strong feelings against his former team, he can be seen more involved with the Raiders whenever he ends with the Saints.
