Joe Davis has been covering the play-by-play action at the LA Dodgers for seven years and it is debateable if he has ever had so much fun, with the hilarious broadcaster in fine fettle.
The Dodgers are hunting down 100 wins for the season and are top of the NL West Division but lost out to the struggling Detroit Lions 4-2 last night. But that did not deter Davis from having a whale of a time.
From drones, to bubbles to lip-reading a bord-watching the seasoned commentator saw it all, and called it as he saw it, showing that colorful commentating has not died out.
In the seventh innings LA outfielder David Peralta almost nailed a huge bird with a foul ball. The bird then did a few laps of honor, much to the merriment of Davis and the fans at the stadium.
The game caller was heard making bird noises, alongside some classic commentary.
“Whoa that almost hit a giant bird,” he exclaimed after the ball flew like a rocket towards the avian supporter.

When Dodgers started hit Detroit’s Zach McKinstry with a wild pitch Davis gave a PG rated lip-reading relay of the event, “Bobby told him to shut the front door and head on down to first,” he remarked off-the-cuff.
We cannot wait to watch the Dodgers in the playoffs, if only to hear some more classic quips.
