Dan Le Batard is an American sports media personality who hosts The Dan Le Batard Show, which is based in Miami, turned down an interview with Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Le Batard rejected Hill because he was informed that he wouldn’t be allowed to ask Hill about his off-field issues.
“We don’t do conditions around here,” said Le Batard on a recent episode of his show.
Hill has a documented history of off-field issues. In 2014, he was arrested and convicted for domestic assault and strangulation of his pregnant girlfriend. Five years later, Hill was investigated for alleged battery after his three-year-old son broke his arm. But after a thorough investigation, no charges ever emerged.
In June of 2023, Hill was involved in an assault case incident at a marina in Miami after he hit an employee. Hill and the employee have settled and resolved the matter since then.
Despite the checkered off-field history, Hill is one of the most famous players in the NFL. Having him on the show would be massive for Le Batard, but he values journalistic integrity more than his gain.
Le Batard proved his dedication to maintaining his editorial honesty by foregoing an interview with an All-Pro Super Bowl Champion-winning star wide receiver. Was it fair of Hill to try and have Le Batard agree to his conditions? Hill may just be trying to avoid any potential distractions during the season to ensure he can focus on helping the Dolphins win games.
