According to Aaron Wilson, the Houston Texans would be lacking their top-notch cornerback, Derek Stingley Jr. Following practice, Stingley had an MRI, which confirmed the seriousness of the injury.
The Texans are allegedly considering putting Stingley Jr. on injured reserve. Stingley Jr. would be out for at least four weeks if the Texans choose to place him on injured reserve.
Stingley Jr. is anticipated to be replaced in the starting lineup by veteran cornerback Shaq Gryphon, who the Houston Texans signed this past offseason.
The Texans’ loss of Stingley is a huge setback because they envisioned the second-year corner to make significant progress this season.
Derek Stingley Jr. has recorded 52 tackles, 5 passes, one sack, and one interception in his 11 career games.
Stingley was picked by the Houston Texans with the third overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The cornerback commenced the first nine games of his first season in the NFL. However, unfortunately, a hamstring injury kept him out of the final eight contests.
