During her recent appearance on the “Barely Filtered" podcast with Kristen Gaffney, model, Sophia Culpo, unveiled her covert move to catch alleged infidelity by her ex-boyfriend, Braxton Berrios.
Culpo disclosed that she had employed a spy to investigate her suspicions of Berrios" unfaithfulness.
Culpo, who began dating Berrios in 2021, divulged that someone close to the New York Jets, where Berrios played from 2019 to 2022, had provided her with incriminating evidence.
This insider source allegedly overheard a conversation between Berrios and a Jets teammate that strongly implied his involvement in infidelity.
“(Berrios) was like, ‘Ladies don’t have to know about tonight,’ and this teammate was like, ‘I’m single, so, it’s fine.’ (Berrios) goes, ‘Oh, well, I’m having fun tonight,'" explained Culpo, recounting the conversation in detail.
However, Sophia Culpo chose not to disclose the identity of her spy.
The couple parted ways in March 2023, shortly before Berrios" release from the New York Jets on March 9, 2023.
Following his departure from the Jets, Berrios signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins on March 16, 2023.
Culpo also revealed that she initially learned about Berrios" alleged infidelity from her older sister, Olivia Culpo, who is engaged to 49ers star Christian McCaffrey.
Olivia informed Sophia during a Super Bowl party in Arizona, that led to Jr. Culpo"s investigation.
"Technically, first I found out from Olivia because she was there [in Arizona for a Super Bowl party]. She calls me and she’s like ‘I’m so sorry I want you to hear this from me, he’s cheating on you,"" Culpo said.
"I just remember my stomach drops. I want to throw up … and then I call him and I go, ‘Was there anything you want to tell me?’ I never heard this tone in his voice, [and he said], ‘No.’
"We had a long conversation and one of the last things I will never forget him saying to me was: ‘I wouldn’t go forward with that story because that’s not how I remember it.""
In June 2023, Sophia Culpo posted a now-deleted TikTok video that seemed to allude to her former boyfriend and his rumored involvement with Alix Earle.
The cryptic caption read:
“Give it a few but call me when the love bombing ends. I gotchu."
Next, Berrios, however, vehemently denied all allegations of infidelity through an Instagram Story.
He clarified that their breakup had nothing to do with third parties and that their relationship simply “didn"t work out."
Sophia Culpo later addressed the situation on Instagram, downplaying the controversy surrounding her earlier TikTok post.
She stated:
“I’m sorry the internet has their panties in a wad. It wasn’t that deep. It really wasn’t that deep. I’m literally getting texts from my friends like, ‘I’m thinking of you, are you doing okay?’ I’m good. I’m good. The internet is wild, but we’re good."
Sophia Culpo"s spy-related confession comes at a time when Berrios" rumored girlfriend, TikTok star Alex Earle, appeared on the “Call Her Daddy" podcast and denied being together with Berrios while he was allegedly involved with Culpo.
Earle also emphasized that they are not in an “exclusive relationship," despite their joint appearance at the ESPY Awards in July.
