Dallas Cowboys star cornerback, Trevon Diggs suffered a season-ending ACL tear this week.

Before the injury, Diggs had been making his presence felt on the field, amassing an impressive stat line which made this setback all the more devastating for the team.

This unfortunate incident comes on the heels of ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith’s cryptic remarks last week following the Cowboys’ dominant Week 1 victory over the New York Giants.

Smith had ominously stated, “We’ve seen this before… It’s coming, that’s all I’m going to say.”

Adding fuel to the fire, ESPN personality Bart Scott referenced Stephen A. Smith’s words during a discussion on First Take, implying that bad luck was destined to befall the Cowboys.

Scott’s remarks did not sit well with one of Diggs’ teammates, Micah Parsons, who took to Twitter to express his displeasure.

Parsons lashed out at Scott for what he perceived as callous comments regarding Diggs’ injury, stating:

“WTF?? He ole hating ass old head!! Lame asf!! This is why I really don’t like talking to dudes in the media!! As a former player, you are a lame asf bro! Just facts joking bout a man trying to feed his family and building a legacy! ESPN gotta stop letting corn balls on TV!”

On July 25, 2023, the Cowboys and Diggs agreed to a blockbuster 5-year, $97 million deal, laden with the potential for an additional $7 million in bonuses.

However, with Trevon Diggs suffering a significant injury has forced the Cowboys to rule him out for the remainder of the season.
