The Utah Jazz have recently been linked to potentially acquiring Tyler Herro from the Miami Heat in a trade package for Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers.
This report comes from Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
“Although outside of early rumblings about Brooklyn and Chicago, the only team even loosely connected as a Herro suitor has been Utah,” writes Fischer.
He stated that during the 2022 offseason, the Jazz were already connected to Herro when there were talks of a potential trade between the Heat and the Jazz involving Donovan Mitchell.
Interestingly, there is a growing belief among league insiders that the Heat will be able to acquire a first-round pick to include in the trade package for Herro, which would make the deal more enticing for the Trail Blazers.
On a separate note, there have been speculations about the Brooklyn Nets also expressing interest in acquiring Herro while simultaneously offloading Ben Simmons.
However, sources close to the situation have informed Fischer that there haven’t been any significant discussions regarding this potential trade. It’s worth noting that Simmons still has two more years left on his contract, with an approximate value of nearly $80 million.
