The first overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2020 NBA Draft, Anthony Edwards was recently honored by his hometown, Atlanta, Georgia, where his mural was revealed when he was attending an event organised by Adidas.

Alongside his face were his mother, Yvette and grandmother, Shirley, who had sadly passed away due to cancer in 2015. Edwards was merely in eighth grade when his mother and grandmother had passed away.
In the event, Edwards also released his signature logo and shoes AE 1. Edwards was additionally reared by his brother Antoine and sister Antoinette, who had joint legal care of him.
The shooting guard for the Timberwolves was born and raised in Atlanta. He attended Daniel McLaughlin Therrell High School before transferring to Holy Spirit Preparatory School in January 2017 as a unanimous five-star recruit.
Naturally, before joining the NBA, Edwards wore No. 5 when playing for the University of Georgia and in high school. His birthdate is also on August 5.

In his hometown, this date is now officially known as “Anthony Edwards Day”. The number for the incredibly talented shooting guard has a profound meaning as his mother and grandmother also passed on the same date.
Last season, Edwards concluded with 26 points, four assists, 13 rebounds and three blocks. Edwards had a 45.9% shooting percentage. The American national team that participated in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup included Edwards as a player.
He was chosen for the All-FIBA World Cup Team after starting all eight of his games. He averaged 18.9 points per game, which was the most for the US team, who came in fourth.
