Steelers Team Plane Diverted to Kansas City Due to Possible Oil Pressure Issue

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 23-18 triumph over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night was followed by some unforeseen difficulties on the drive home.

The Steelers’ team plane was diverted to Kansas City due to an unidentified cause, according to Burt Lauten, Senior Director of Communications for the organization.

Burt Lauten stated in a tweet on X, the site that replaced Twitter that said “Our team charter plane was unexpectedly diverted to Kansas City early this morning on our way back to Pittsburgh following our game in Las Vegas,”

“Everyone on the plane is safe, and we are making necessary plans to arrive back in Pittsburgh later today.”

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “After their team plane was unexpectedly diverted to Kansas City early this morning, the Steelers remain on the same plane that left Las Vegas at roughly 11:30 pm PDT last night, waiting for another plane to get them back to Pittsburgh”

“Steelers were supposed to have landed in Pittsburgh about 5:30 am; their new arrival time remains uncertain. Soon enough they’ll be back on another plane; they play at Houston on Sunday”.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini posted a tweet on Platform X which said, “Here’s the latest on the Steelers travel: The Steelers new plane that traveled from Atlanta to get them has arrived in Kansas City. They are currently sitting on that plane on the runaway. They still have not taken off for Pittsburgh”.

According to CNN, it was reported by the Federal Aviation Administration that the plane “landed safely at Kansas City International Airport around 4 a.m. local time on Monday, September 25, after the crew reported a possible oil pressure issue.”
