In the recent game between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots, Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner made a serious allegation against Patriots quarterback Mac Jones.
Gardner claimed that Jones intentionally hit him in his private area at the end of a play.
In response to Gardner’s claim, Mac Jones expressed his innocence during an interview on WEEI. He acknowledged the contact but maintained that it was unintentional to target Gardner’s sensitive area.
Video footage from the game clearly shows Gardner shoving Jones after the quarterback delivered a hit to his groin area while getting up from a quarterback sneak.
While Jones does not deny contact was made, he insists that he did not intentionally aim for Gardner’s sensitive area.
“Sauce is one of the best corners in the NFL. I have a lot of respect for him. On that play, nothing was intentional. I just got up and went back to the huddle, and that’s it,” Jones said.

“Like I said, I can’t control that stuff,” Jones said. “I try to be really competitive and go out there and be a good teammate and compete, and come to work every day and work hard and put a lot of hours into it. I definitely care about football a lot and this game means a lot to me and it means a lot to a lot of other guys that I play with so I hope that they can see that.”
However, in cases of serious allegations like this, news regarding potential punishment for Jones could leak out before the official release.
