“We’re not a final product yet,” Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni about the team after Eagles advance to 3-0

Despite defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rather easily on Monday Night Football and starting the 2023 campaign with a 3-0 record, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is not satisfied. He believes this team is just scratching the surface of the height of their powers, stating “We’re not a final product yet,” in his postgame media comments.

The Eagles dominated the Bucs and held a lead for the entire game after kicking a field goal to give them a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. It was a combination of defensive dominance on one side of the field and the ability to consistently rip off large gains through the ground that propelled the Eagles to victory.

Running back D’Andre Swift ran for 130 yards on 16 attempts, averaging 8.1 yards per carry. The Eagles boast one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and they did a great job of paving the way in the run game. Quarterback Jalen Hurts also rushed 10 times for 28 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 3 victory over the Bucs.

The Eagles defense held the Bucs to just 174 yards of total offense and forced two turnovers while allowing just four yards per play. Rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter continued to stand out and make plays for this stout defensive unit.

If the Eagles truly aren’t a finished product as Sirianni says, then it is scary to imagine how good this team can be in December and January. They could find themselves back in the NFC Championship Game this season if they continue to improve throughout the season the way Sirianni suggests.
