“It is in our rearview now,” Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Unfazed by Emergency Landing, Preparing for Texans

After defeating the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers were facing a short week and quick turnaround for their Week 4 matchup against the Houston Texans.

However, their week between games got even shorter after the team plane had to do an emergency landing in Kansas City. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is doing his best to avoid distractions and prepare for Week 4.

Tomlin himself has already moved on and accepted the reality and is hoping his players can do the same. “I don’t want it to become an excuse,” Tomlin said repeatedly in his first time addressing the media since the aftermath.

Tomlin proceeded to tell Mark Kaboly of The Atheltic that this is a “non-issue” and “it is in our rearview now.” With only so much time to prepare for their upcoming game, they cannot waste any moment dwelling on the past. Instead, Tomlin and the coaching staff have adapted to the existing conditions and created an alternate practice schedule to get the team back on track.

The Steelers travel to Houston this weekend to face a Texans team that has exceeded expectations thus far through three games, meaning they cannot take them lightly. Hopefully, there will be no more travel issues so that Tomlin and the Steelers can move forward and continue to leave this behind them.
