Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert believes he is the Speedy Gonzalez down Floriday way, despite a lightning quick Miami offense.
Mostert does not lack self-belief and believes he would hands-down win a 40-yard dash against teammates Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane.
The Dolphins are fresh off scoring 70 points against the Broncos in one of the most lop-sided games in recent memory.
The Miami team have thrown down the gauntlet and will be out to be crowned Superbowl champions after a 3-0 start to the new campaign.
Mostert leads the NFL with seven scrimmage touchdowns and is part of a Miami running team that could compete at the Olympics as track athletes.
They feel like they are on the noon, and why not?
Mostert, speaking on the Rich Eisen Show believes he would out-gun Hill and Waddle in a New York second.
“Oh yeah, hands down, I win this race,” Mostert told Eisen.
“Look, I’ll tell it like this, Rich. When it comes to a race, right, Tyreek is fast, don’t get me wrong, but I can break down his speed. He has more of that quick twitch to him, too.
“For me, I’m more of a long-strider; once I get going, it’s hard to catch me, it’s hard to beat me. And same thing with J-Dub, he’s in between both Tyreek and I. It’ll be a good race for sure, but I think I got the upper advantage.”
Mostert is flying high on confidence as the Dolphins look to go four and o when they travel to the Bills in week 4.
The Buffaloe team have won their last two games and will not be a pushover. But with the speed of the Miami side, it looks they can outrun any defence this campaign.
Mostert has played for seven NFL teams since 2015 with the Purdue speedster going undrafted. He signed for the Eagles as a free agent and based on his latest form, he is definitely not unnoticed this season.
