Carolina Panthers safety Xavier Woods is anticipated to be out for 4-6 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during the 37-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

With this news, the Carolina Panthers will go further into jeopardy, as many of their players have sustained significant injuries.

Shaq Thompson, a linebacker, is predicted to miss the rest of the season after cracking his fibula against the New Orleans Saints. Quarterback Bryce Young, the No. 1 overall pick, missed the Week 3 game with an ankle injury.

Their cornerback, Jaycee Horn, is already on the injured reserve list as he sustained a hamstring injury. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Panthers anticipate Woods to be out for 4-6 weeks.

According to ProFootballTalk, Woods has 11 tackles and two passes defended in three games. He has played on defense 63% of the time. The defense of the Carolina Panthers has suffered significantly.

Woods was injured when he attempted to shove Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf out of bounds after a 34-yard reception. He was labelled as doubtful to return at first, but that was modified to out.
