On The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith commented on Damian Lillard’s trade earlier today to the Milwaukee Bucks made them a championship contender.
Smith gives his first take on the former Portland Trail Blazers’ move, the Bucks are looking to be a formidable team coming into the season.
He also pointed out that Antetokounmpo now has somebody to share the responsibility with, especially with Lillard’s 32.2 points per game average last season.

On the show, he opened his support to the trade and Bucks, saying,
“The Portland Trail Blazers have finally traded Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler was looking forward to having Damian Lillard.”
He also highlighted what is meant now for the Bucks team after Lillard’s arrival, He said,
“Jimmy Butler stars for the Miami Heat, they end up being seen as an inferior team to the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics, who recently acquired Kristaps Porzingis a couple of months ago.”
Smith gave a very insightful talk on why the Bucks are now a favorite for the Eastern Conference, he pointed out on the show,
“And in fairness to the Portland Trail Blazers if we’re being fair, and I’m going to be fair, it’s a perfect situation for Damen Lillard.”
He added,
“To be the point guard with that ball in your hands, to have Antetokounmpo as your teammate, you can’t ask for much better.”
He also said,
“The bottom line is Damen Lillard wasn’t sent to some scrub team”
On the show, Smith clearly brought up the topic of who is now his favorite to win the finals, he spoke,
“The Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics are now tit-for-tat as who are the favorites in the Eastern Conference to go to the NBA finals.”
