Since LeBron James joined the Miami Heat in 2010, the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz has become synonymous with passionate Miami Heat discussions and celebrations.
However, following the team’s failed attempt to acquire Damian Lillard in a blockbuster trade, the show took on a somber tone as they held a funeral for what they called the “Heat Culture.”

The local hour of the Dan Le Batard Show opened with a dramatic scene, featuring the producers in a dimly lit studio. Jeremy Tache played a solemn song on an electric keyboard, setting the mournful atmosphere. Mike Ryan Ruiz later performed a less upbeat rendition of the Heat’s unofficial anthem, “Pepas.”
The emotional moment even led to Jessica Smetana burying her head in her hands.

“I think you speak for all of South Florida,” Le Batard said after the performance.
Heat enthusiasts Ruiz and Tache couldn’t contain their disappointment, shedding crocodile tears over the missed opportunity to acquire Lillard.
