The MLB umpire Angel Hernandez has one of the most stand-out personalities, as a third base ump Hernandez rung up Harper which was not well received.
Hernandez rung Bryce Harper up on a check swing call, then Harper was ejected when he strongly expressed his displeasure.
The scene unfolded when the Philadelphia Phillies hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday.
As the game progressed in the bottom of the third, with one out and no one on, Harper was with a full count.
The home plate umpire checked with Hernandez at the third when Harper put on a check swing on a ball low, eventually he was called out on strikes. This led to the ejection, and was seen throwing his batting helmet to the Phillies crowd on his way out.
Harper had already taken out his right shin guard when third base umpire Hernandez called him out on a checked strike three, afterward Harper lost his cool.
Throwing off his batting helmet and storming down toward third base, Harper was seen shouting at umpire Hernandez and finally before he was halfway down the line.
The encounter of pointing fingers at Hernandez’s face with furious outbursts ended with manager Rob Thomson separating the two.
After the Phillies’ loss to the Pirates 3-2, Harper said
“Angel in the middle of something again, It’s just every year. It’s the same story, same thing.”
Harper has been ejected four times already this season, and spoke that he is expected to get a letter and a fine from Major League Baseball.
