Hall of Famer Joe Namath is one of the franchise"s icons for the Jets, he also delivered the team"s lone Super Bowl championship.
However, his recent comments on the current Jets quarterback Zach Wilson are not backed by Jets coach Robert Saleh even though they have a 1-2 start.
In an interview with a New York sports radio station Monday, Namath blasted QB Wilson as the Jets suffered a 15-10 loss to the New England Patriots.
He said,
"No, I didn"t take anything positive out of [the game] yesterday, It was awful."

Following this comment, during a news conference on Wednesday, coach Saleh said,
"Joe is an icon, a Hall of Famer, and a well-respected individual in this organization,"
He added,
"Door"s always open for him to walk in. My office is always open for him. We"ll agree to disagree with his comments, but he is entitled to those comments."
Wilson also responded on Thursday to the Jets" legendary quarterback Namath"s comments, he told the reporters,
"He’s passionate"
"He’s obviously was one of the greats, and so as an offense we gotta do everything we can to just try and prove him wrong."
Namath previously also said the Jets need to trade Zach Wilson and added,
"If you have an eye about football at all, then it’s easy to see that things are "haywire" with the Jets."
Coach Saleh has a clear outlook on the team and in the comment made by the Jets BQ, he strongly said he has to agree to disagree with Namath’s opinion on the team.
