Receiver Justin Jefferson is resolute in reminding everyone that the current NFL season is far from over. The Minnesota Vikings’ star addressed the ongoing social media chatter about trade speculations and long-term plans for the team following their challenging 0-3 start:

“At the end of the day, it’s not going to be perfect every time,” Jefferson emphasized, as reported by ESPN.com. “There’s things that you’ve got to go through throughout the season to really tell if you’re going to be a great team or not. We’re handling adversity early in the season with the turnovers and being 0-3, but there is a whole bunch of more games to go.”

Jefferson, the standout wide receiver for the Vikings, is adamant about not prematurely judging the season after just three games. He firmly expressed his frustration with discussions about looking ahead to the next season or potential trades:

“I’m tired of people saying that we’re looking into next season or all of the trades and stuff like that,” Jefferson stated to ESPN. “We’re focused still on this season. We have a lot more games to go and we have a lot more things to accomplish this season. We’re still focused in, and we still have the same goal as we had before the season. We just need to fix a few things and I feel like we’ll be back on track.”

Even before the Vikings’ recent loss to the Chargers, there were speculations about the team potentially trading quarterback Kirk Cousins to fill in for the injured Aaron Rodgers in New York. These speculations intensified following the Vikings’ 28-24 loss on Sunday.

With the season off to a rocky start, the Vikings are well aware that they need to start winning games soon. Historically, only six NFL teams have managed to make the postseason after an 0-3 start, and only one, the 1992 Chargers, overcame an 0-4 start to reach the playoffs.

In the NFC North, the Vikings currently trail behind the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions, both of whom have a 2-1 record. Their next challenge awaits them on the road against the Carolina Panthers this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
