During an interview with the senior Jets’ reporter Eric Allen this week, Johnson was questioned on the pass rush plan versus a guy like Mahomes.
In his reply, Johnson clearly signal a sort of warning or in the manner they are prepared, he said to Allen,
“We got something for him.”
As shocked the fans are by the 2022 first-round pick’s expression and confidence, can the Jets bring success by pressuring the two-time Super Bowl MVP?
The Jets have lost in the last two games and a third consecutive loss will only be decided in the weekend when they meet the Chiefs.
The showdown on Sunday Night Football at MetLife Stadium has added some motivation to the Jets but also supplied some to the NFL’s best quarterback.
The bold response and the confidence ahead of the Week 4 game show Johnson is confident New York will be able to apply pressure to WB Mahomes.
The Jets’ pass rush strategy has struggled so far this season, a ranking of No. 27 in the league with only six sacks through the first three weeks
The team will be putting pressure on Mahomes, who has been sacked just once this season, the fewest among all starting quarterbacks.
They will also need to bring adjustments to their game plan when they face the Chiefs to rely less on their defense and keep up with City’s high-powered offense.
