The Carolina Panthers are still working to bolster their lineup for this year and beyond and prepare for the future.
As per the NFL, several clubs were reportedly contacted by the Panthers about a potential trade for a starting wide receiver this season.
In order to aid quarterback Bryce Young, Carolina signed Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark this summer and selected Jonathan Mingo in the second round.
Ian Rapoport continues by pointing out that the absence of starting safety Xavier Woods, who is anticipated to be out for a while due to a hamstring ailment, might potentially lead to a lookout as well.
Further explaining the situation, he writes, “Even though they have started the season 0-3, the Panthers have not signaled to other teams that they are interested in trading away players for draft picks, sources say.
To be sure, it’s a bit early in the year for most trades, as teams are still figuring themselves out after the first month of the season and a full month before the league’s trade deadline on Oct. 31.”
