Mark Jackson, the former head coach, point guard, and ESPN broadcaster, is reportedly working on securing a deal to call games for the MSG Network.

Jackson would rejoin his former coworker, Mike Breen.
He is a good fit because of his professional expertise and—perhaps more importantly—his connections to the New York supporters.
Jackson had a total of six and a half seasons with the New York Knicks, split between two separate tenures. The New York Knicks’ renaissance in the late 1980s and early 1990s was aided by the No. 18 overall selection in the 1987 NBA Draft.
In 1989, he was chosen as an All-Star and named Rookie of the Year. Due to his reputation as one of the best players on the Knicks, his replacement as the team’s head coach has been constantly demanded by fans over the years.
However, his time never saw him as the head coach of the Knicks; instead, he guided the Golden State Warriors from 2011 to 2014 as their head coach.
As a broadcaster, he has been with ESPN for a long time as well and was recently laid off as well due to the massive policy change of the Network.
As part of ESPN’s large summertime cutbacks, Jeff Van Gundy was also removed.
Breen, Jackson, and Van Gundy were the voices of the NBA’s marquee contests for more than a decade before their successive exits put an end to one of the most illustrious broadcasting teams in contemporary professional sports.
