Chicago is not a good place to be right now for Bears players, fans and coaching staff as the team jettisoned a prime opportunity to get on the winning column against the Broncos in week 4.
Instead, the Bears picked up their fourth loss in successive games this campaign and their 14th on the trot stretching back to last season.
They lead the Broncos by 28-7 in the third quarter but would go on to lose the game 31-28. Remember, the Broncos shipped 70 points the week before against the Dolphins.
The loss was demoralizing, especially as head coach Matt Eberflus threw away a field goal with the scores deadlocked at 28-28 with three minutes on the clock.
The Bears opted to run Khalil Herbert out of the shotgun, but he was blasted.
Speaking to Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times after that game Eiberflus was not happy, and why should he be?
“You know, when you’re 0-4, no one’s done the job well enough right?”
‘‘That’s just facts, right? It’s a results business, and we have to do a better job collectively as a group,” he said.
The Bears travel to the capital to take on the Commanders in a coach salvaging week 5 encounter.
The Commanders are 2-2 and are fresh off a tight 34-31 loss to the Eagles.
