When it comes to NFL records, there are few names that stand out like Jerry Rice. As a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Rice set numerous records during his legendary career.

However, one of those records has recently been broken by San Francisco 49ers running back, Christian McCaffrey.

Heading into Week 4 of the NFL season, McCaffrey was already leading the league in rushing yards and scrimmage yards. But in a game against the Arizona Cardinals, he went above and beyond, adding to his impressive stats.

McCaffrey rushed for 106 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns. But he didn’t stop there. He also had 71 receiving yards and caught a touchdown pass.

What makes McCaffrey’s performance even more remarkable is the fact that he scored a touchdown in his 13th consecutive game, including playoffs.

This streak broke Jerry Rice’s previous franchise record of 12 games. In the history of the NFL since 1950, McCaffrey’s streak ranks as the fifth-longest.

McCaffrey’s exceptional start to the 2019 season has also earned him a place in the history books alongside some of the greatest players of all time.

He is now only the third player since 1950 to record at least 600 scrimmage yards and seven scrimmage touchdowns in the first four games of a season.

The other two players who achieved this feat are none other than Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith and Jim Brown.
