The partnership between James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers has not been smooth sailings.

With rumors of Harden’s disinterest in the team and his absence from media day, it appears that his time with the Sixers is rapidly coming to an end.

Amidst the optimism surrounding the Sixers’ chances this season, Daryl Morey, the president of basketball operations, addressed Harden’s absence from media day. It took nearly four minutes before Harden’s name was even mentioned.

During the media day, Morey confirmed that he is actively seeking a trade for Harden, emphasizing his desire to find a solution that benefits all parties involved.

However, given Morey’s past tendencies of overpricing assets and failing to reach compromises, it is challenging to believe that his trade pursuits are genuine.

Unlike previous instances, where Harden’s trade value was high, the current situation presents a different scenario.

Harden’s age, history of injuries, and questionable work ethic have raised concerns among potential trade partners.

Moreover, being in the final year of his contract and having forced his way out of three teams, his market value has undoubtedly taken a hit.

The Sixers may find themselves having to offer additional assets to secure a favorable trade, an outcome they surely would like to avoid.
