“This is what happens to football players who get hit in the head” Blind Side Author Michael Lewis Blames Tuohys’ Lawyer for Oher Lawsuit, Claims Head Injuries Caused Change in Behavior

The author of the book "The Blind Side", Michael Lewis, has recently come forward to share his perspective on the claims made by Michael Oher against the Tuohy family regarding his conservatorship.

Meanwhile, the legal battle has already stirred and grabbed everyone’s attention.

According to the Washington Post, Lewis also said, "Everybody should be mad at the Hollywood studio system,"

“Michael Oher should join the writers strike. It"s outrageous how Hollywood accounting works, but the money is not in the Tuohys" pockets."

According to Samanth Subramanian, Michael Lewis said during the interview, "What we’re watching is a change of behaviour,"

"This is what happens to football players who get hit in the head: they run into problems with violence and aggression."

Further claiming, "some lawyer of Oher’s figured the time was ripe to sue the Tuohy"s."

Lewis is a close friend of the Tuohy family and has been friends with them for a long time as well. His claims regarding the NFL star were contradictory to the judge, who had earlier announced the cancellation of Oher"s conservatorship.

In August, Oher announced that the central claim in the tale—that a white family took him in when he was homeless—was false and that the family had long used his name and story to their own financial advantage. The movie made over $300 million at the box office, becoming a huge hit.

The former NFL star player Oher claimed that for nearly twenty years, he had assumed he was a legitimate member of the Tuohy family before discovering this year that he was not.

According to ESPN, Oher allegedly asserted in a 14-page petition in Tennessee"s Shelby County that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy never legally adopted him.

Instead, the petition claims that the Tuohy family lured him into a conservatorship, an arrangement that granted them the legal right to use his name in business transactions.

The petition further stated that the conservatorship be terminated and that the family not use his name in any way. The petition demanded reimbursement of Oher"s share of the earnings along with all the money the Tuohys had made since the conservatorship, in addition to damages.

Kathleen Gomes, who is the Shelby County Probate Court Judge, has reached an agreement to terminate the conservatorship the Touhy had over Michael Oher. As per the Associated Press. Gomes expressed her dismay that such a compromise was ever made.

The Judge mentions, "I cannot believe it got done,"

The agreement should expire, according to the lawyers representing both sides; however, Oher"s accusations will still be addressed in court. Gomes opined that the agreement should have been terminated a long time ago.
