After Team USA didn’t qualify for a medal in the FIBA World Cup this summer, several high-profile star players have gone on record to express their desire to represent the United States and help the team return to being the most dominant basketball country in the world. That includes Golden State Warriors star guard, Stephen Curry, who said he wants to be on the team when they head to Paris for the Olympics next summer.

“I want to be playing. It’s one thing I haven’t done… I definitely want to be on the team,” Curry stated during an interview he had as part of the Warriors’ 2023-24 NBA Media Day.

Curry is one of the most decorated players in NBA history, yet has never represented the United States in the Olympics. He participated in the FIBA Basketball World Cup twice, helping the team win gold in both 2010 and 2014. Now, Curry seems poised to commit to representing Team USA in the 2024 Olympics.

In addition to being one of the greatest players of all time and in the NBA today, Curry also has a connection to Team USA head coach Steve Kerr, who also happens to be the head coach of the Warriors. Curry’s immense talent and the respect he’s garnered throughout his illustrious 14-year NBA career should solidify his spot on the roster if he wants to play, barring injury.

Other notable high-profile players such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Kawhi Leonard, Devin Booker, and many more have also stated their desire to represent Team USA next summer in Paris.
