High School football in Texas is well-known for its competitive nature but this ‘attack’ by a referee on a player has gone viral.
The incident happened in a match between Whitney and Dallas Madison and was captured on camera.
The player has been identified as Trey Haynes, the son of the head coach of Whitney.
To add insult to injury the ref flagged and ejected the player.

Karla Haynes, the mother of the player was outraged and said on her X feed,” how is this allowed from a ref!!!!!!! And then you eject MY SON and you literally assaulted him!!!!!!!
The Texas University Interscholastic officials are reportedly investigating the matter.
The player runs into the referee, in what looks to be an accident, but the ensuing reaction epitomizes the raucous and fractious nature of football in the state.
