While national interest in MLB coverage dipped the ratings stocks grew for local viewership.
17 teams showed an increase of local coverage, with 11 showing a negative loss and one being even.
The Toronto Blue Jays, from Canada were not considered.
Nine teams saw a jump of at least 25% with six of these being playoff bound.
The league’s biggest increase came from the Texas Rangers whose local ratings nearly doubled.
Surprisingly the Pittsburgh Pirates, who lost 86 games this season were up 72%.
Not so surprisingly, the AL East winners the Baltimore Orioles showed a 64% increase.
The Chicago White Sox was the worst performing MLB team when it came to attracting increased viewers, followed by the Royals, the Cardinals and the Mets.
Looks like trends do follow form.
