Breaking: New York City Relaxes Alcohol Sales Ban for Bills Game in London

The Buffalo Bills will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Due to this weekend’s transatlantic game, the city of New York is relaxing its prohibition on early Sunday morning alcohol sales.

According to Pro Football Talk, Kathy Hochul, the governor of New York, declared that establishments will have until Friday to submit applications for licenses to serve alcohol starting on Sunday morning.

Hochul made the decision to create a grace period for the Bills game even though the due date for requests like that had already passed.

Kathy Hochul said, “With the Buffalo Bills playing across the pond on Sunday morning, I know fans will be gathering for the big game & may fancy a pint. I’m directing the State Liquor Authority to extend the deadline for special permits, so sports bars & restaurants can serve as early as 8 a.m.”

In her capacity as governor and as a Buffalo native, Hochul has been an avid admirer of the Bills. She also played a key role in the agreement that will see $850 million in taxpayer money.

These funds will go towards the construction of the Bills’ new stadium. Hochul, with her statement, has assured that Buffalo Bills fans could get their drinks prior to the game.
