The Buffs’ loss to USC in week 5 drew the lowest viewership and still is the most-watched game of the week

The Colorado Buffaloes didn’t have a great game this week, and it was their least-watched game of the season, with about 7.2 million viewers on Fox. This was a drop of almost three million viewers compared to last week when Oregon had a big win. In an interesting twist, ESPN’s Florida-Kentucky game actually had more viewers (about 2.3 million) than ABC’s Clemson-Syracuse game (about 2 million), which is not something you see every day.

In the afternoon, CBS did well, drawing about 6.4 million viewers for Georgia’s victory over Auburn. It was their most-watched game of the season, surpassing the South Carolina-Georgia game in Week 3 by almost a million viewers. CBS also outperformed Fox’s Michigan-Nebraska game by nearly two million viewers, which had about 4.5 million.

In the evening, ABC’s broadcast of Notre Dame’s close win over Duke had about 5.3 million viewers, winning the time slot. NBC also had a game, Michigan State-Iowa, but it didn’t do as well, with about 2.2 million viewers, ranking ninth for the day. On the positive side, it did beat Fox’s MLB coverage, which had about 1.7 million viewers.

Looking ahead to Week 6, there might not be many exciting matchups. Fox will show Maryland-Ohio State, ABC has Oklahoma-Texas, and ESPN will feature LSU-Missouri. In the afternoon, CBS has Alabama-Texas A&M, ABC has Virginia Tech-Florida State, and Fox offers UCF-Kansas. For primetime, you can catch Kentucky-Georgia on ESPN, Michigan-Minnesota on NBC, Notre Dame-Louisville on ABC, and Fresno State-Wyoming on Fox.

As for Colorado, they’ll be playing against Arizona State on the Pac-12 Network at 6:30 p.m. ET. Unfortunately, the Pac-12 Network isn’t rated by Nielsen, so we won’t have viewership numbers for the Buffs next week.
