After barely making the MLB playoffs as a Wild Card team, the Arizona Diamondbacks have taken advantage of their opportunity. In their two-game series sweep of the NL Central Division winner Milwaukee Brewers, the Diamondbacks etched their name in MLB record books by becoming only the fourth team in MLB history to overcome a multi-run deficit in each of their first two postseason games.

The Diamondbacks join the 2009 New York Yankees, 2008 Tampa Bay Rays, and 1956 Los Angeles Dodgers as one of four teams to accomplish this miraculous feat. However, those three teams were able to do so in front of their home crowds while the Diamondbacks went on the road in a hostile playoff environment and took down the Brewers.
The Diamondbacks got out to an early 0-2 deficit in the first inning of Game 2 before rattling off five consecutive runs in the fifth and sixth innings to propel them to a 5-2 victory and series sweep over the Brewers.
Centerfielder Alek Thomas got the comeback started for the Diamondbacks when he hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning. In the sixth inning, they got contributions from Ketel Marte, Tommy Pham, and Lorudes Gurriel Jr., who all drove in runs to give the Diamondbacks a 5-2 lead. After that, the bullpen was able to finish the game and now the Diamondbacks are headed to the National League Divisional Series.
The team will travel to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers in a best-of-five series that is set to kick off on Saturday, Oct. 7.
