Kaepernick has been actively working toward a comeback in the NFL after being out of the league since 2017. His decision to kneel during the national anthem as a protest against police brutality and racial injustice made him a polarizing figure. The 35-year-old quarterback previously played for the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2016, leading them to a Super Bowl appearance in 2012.
Kaepernick’s agent recently reached out to the New York Jets to express his client’s interest in returning to the NFL, particularly after the news of Aaron Rodgers’ season-ending injury. However, the Jets did not show a similar interest in signing the quarterback.
