Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce believes the NFL is stepping out of the scrimmage line a bit too quickly, with Taylor Swift mania hitting the league like a Kansas tornado.
Kelce was talking in the wake of the Kansas City Chiefs tense 23-20 win over the Jets on Monday.
The NFL seems to be going overboard as it showed on its recently deleted Instagram account bio that the Swifties are 2-0.
Kelce and Swift are a hot item, and she made her first appearance at the Arrowhead Stadium in week 3.
Against the Jets Swift brought an A list entourage including Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.
Kelce admitted he understood the perils of being a power couple saying on his podcast that be paparazzi are following him.
The NFL released a rare interaction to a controversy stating the league was not overstressing the relationship as a means to grow viewership.
“We frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what’s happening in and around our games, as well as culturally,” the NFL said Wednesday.
“The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we’ve leaned into in real time, as it’s an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport,” the statement continued.
“I think they’re overdoing it a little bit for sure, especially my situation,” the Chiefs tight end said via his New Heights podcast.
The next pitstop for the defending Superbowl champion side the Chiefs is a week 5 encounter against the Vikings.
Who knows who will be in attendance and what the NFL will put out next?
