“Joe Cronin did a great job of communicating with me” Jrue Holiday credits Blazers’ GM Joe Cronin for his trade to Celtics

The two-time NBA All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday came to the Portland Trail Blazers as a part of the unprecedented Damian Lillard trade saga.

His future was held in the hands of the Blazers who then traded him to the Boston Celtics.

As part of the agreement, Holiday was moved to Portland, but the Blazers had no plan of retaining him because they had Scoot Henderson.

Many teams indicated interest in obtaining Holiday once Lillard moved to Milwaukee Bucks and not his preferred destination, the Miami Heat.

The Boston Celtics were the team which was eventually successful in acquiring him in a transaction that brought Malcolm Brogdon and Robert Williams III to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Holiday will now join the Boston Celtics who have an incredible lineup with players like Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jaylen Brown.

After being traded to Boston, Joe Cronin, general manager of the Blazers, received great accolades from Holiday for his role in facilitating the deal and maintaining open lines of communication.

Jrue stated, ““Portland blessed me. Joe Cronin did a great job of communicating with me on how I wanted to proceed…Working with him was very easy, very seamless, and made all of this possible.””

Joe Cronin emerged from the tricky scenario of Lillard’s trade and has now come up with Portland’s rejuvenated lineup and a promising future looking quite good.

Regarding Holiday, the Boston Celtics are now arguably the club which will be hard to defeat since their squad is once again loaded with quality and greater skills.
