New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has seen a lot of NFL football over his 29 years as a coach. As a result, we cannot take it lightly when he heaps praise on a player and commends them for their contributions to the NFL. With the Patriots gearing up for a Week 5 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, Belichick didn’t hesitate to recognize Saints defensive end Cam Jordan and his impact on the game.

During Wednesday’s media availability, Belichick took the time to discuss Jordan in detail and appreciate what he has done throughout his 14-year playing career. "[Cameron] Jordan is one of the players I have the most respect for in the league," Belichick said. "He’s been a great player for a long time, very durable… 177 straight games he played. The guy shows up every week and plays well…" Belichick added.

Jordan is an eight-time Pro Bowler and former First-Team All-Pro member in 2017. He has earned six consecutive Pro Bowl nods dating back to 2017 and hopes to make it seven straight after this season. With 116 career sacks, Jordan currently ranks first among active players in sacks, with Carolina Panthers edge rusher Justin Houston not too far behind him (112).

Belichick made it clear that he will put an emphasis on slowing down Jordan on Sunday when the Patriots and Saints play, which can be viewed as the ultimate sign of respect for a player of Jordan’s caliber.
