Former Los Angeles Dodgers star Trevor Bauer has reportedly reached a settlement in his sexual assault case with accuser Lindsay Hill outside of court, and no financial exchange was involved.
In light of this report, Bauer took to Instagram to present his side of the story, sharing a crucial piece of evidence.
At the heart of the matter are private text messages exchanged between Hill and a friend, where Hill wrote, “Next victim. Star pitcher for the Dodgers.”
Bauer contends that this text suggests Hill may have plotted to victimize him due to his substantial net worth.
However, Lindsay Hill has now come forward to provide her perspective in an exclusive interview on “Prime Time with Alex Stein.”
She explained that the word “victim” was intended humorously, and asserted that Bauer had taken her statement out of context.
“This was exactly what Trevor wanted to do was random pick three or four texts and weave it into a narrative where I just look horrible. I can totally own the attention-seeking behavior but these texts in the grand scheme don’t address what happened at all,” said Miss Hill.
Adding fuel to the fire, Bauer shared a video purportedly recorded after a sexual encounter with Hill in 2021. The footage depicted Hill smiling and without apparent injuries.
In a counter, Hill emphasized that bruises often take time to surface and pointed to selfies from that period as evidence of the damage.
Addressing the ongoing legal battle, Hill expressed her readiness to go to trial, expressing confidence in the outcome. However, she underscored the toll the legal proceedings had taken on her mental health over the past year, leading her to prioritize her well-being over public vindication.
In a yet-to-be-answered development, Trevor Bauer’s legal team has not immediately responded to Lindsay Hill’s remarks.
For context, Trevor Bauer, a free agent post the 2020 season, signed a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers in February 2021.
However, his season was overshadowed by allegations of sexual assault, leading to MLB imposing administrative leave.
Hill accused Bauer of non-consensual sodomy, face-punching, and choking her unconscious.
In response, the league suspended him for 324 games, later reduced to 194 games on appeal.
The Dodgers released him on January 12, 2023.
Bauer subsequently joined the BayStars on March 13, 2023, and continues to play with the team.
