NFL star, Chandler Jones has recently found himself at the center of controversy due to alleged breaches of a temporary domestic violence protection order and concerning actions involving his former girlfriend"s property.
The incident unfolded on September 28 when Jones" ex-girlfriend, who claims to be the mother of his child, reported an unsettling occurrence captured on her home security system.
According to reports, Jones was seen entering her backyard and removing various items, which included a recycling bin, pool net, and dog toys.
The situation took a distressing turn as Jones allegedly sent videos to his ex-girlfriend, in which he appeared to be unclothed while burning the items he had taken from her backyard.
"[He] was completely nude inside of his own backyard and was burning items that he took from the victim’s backyard," said the police report.
Law enforcement officers were eventually able to locate Jones, leading to his arrest and subsequent charges.
He now faces two counts of violating a temporary protection order related to domestic violence, with a court date set for December 4.
This incident marks the latest in a series of troubling events surrounding Chandler Jones.
The initial protection order was prompted by a September 12 incident when Jones arrived at his ex-girlfriend"s residence, reportedly acting incoherently and carrying a flashlight, all while being shoeless.
The situation escalated when he used a keypad to gain entry into the house, attempted to enter the woman"s room, and allegedly pushed her into a railing.
The protection order was granted to the woman, who accused Jones of domestic battery.
In response to these serious allegations and legal issues, the Las Vegas Raiders officially severed ties with Chandler Jones on September 30.
Chandler Jones was chosen by the New England Patriots in the inaugural round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Over the course of his career, he has also donned the jerseys of the Arizona Cardinals and the Las Vegas Raiders.
The future of the once-prominent defensive end in the NFL remains uncertain as he faces the legal consequences of his actions.
