Clayton Kershaw, the pitcher of the Los Angeles Dodgers had a challenging time with the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dodgers lost to the Diamondbacks in the National League Division Series opener on Saturday.

According to ESPN, Stats and Info, “Clayton Kershaw is the first starting pitcher in MLB postseason history to allow 5 hits and 5 runs before recording an out.”

According to ESPN, regarding his disheartening performance, Kershaw said, “Disappointing,”

“Embarrassing. You just feel like you let everybody down. The guys, a whole organization, that looked to you to pitch well in Game 1. It’s just embarrassing, really. So I just feel like I let everybody down. It’s a tough way to start the postseason. Obviously, we still have a chance at this thing, but that wasn’t the way it should’ve started for me.”

Kershaw had a record of 13-5, 2.46 ERA and he reclaimed his role as the team’s pitcher and earned the opportunity to start the first postseason game.

However, his skills could not shine on Saturday for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kershaw pitched superbly during the concluding two months of the regular season despite having a sore left shoulder.

Regarding his health, Kershaw expressed, “I feel fine,”

“I feel fine. I just didn’t make enough good pitches, obviously, tonight. There’s nothing health-related here; just bad pitching.”

The three-time Cy Young Award recipient, Kershaw, however, is adamant and positive and says he will be prepared for their next battle. He expressed, “I’ll be ready,”

“Yeah, I’ll be ready.”
